rave: Full Minis and My Heart's Desire

April 24, 2009

So yes, maybe you have recognized this picture already- I stole it off of InStyle's Website :) And if you have, you know what this is- the one and only full-bodied mini skirt. I've always wished I had more skirts.

Here's my deal with skirts. I went through a 3 year phase where I thought the only skirts were denim or khaki. What can I say? I was in a very creativity-dulling environment (Middle School). And than I actually started exploring the Urban Catalogue- only to find the most beautiful skirts I've ever seen. The one I'm wearing on the mainn page is from there.I have become much more involved with high waists and semi-knee lengths- they're wayy more flattering than tight, short, destroyed-looking Abercrombie jean -if you can even call them this- skirts.

^^I strongly suggest Urban Outfitters or Anthropologie for skirts like those in the photo.

rant: Death by Ed Hardy Jeans.

April 17, 2009

Some of you might have been able to predict this, as the image above is enough of an explanation. I'm fine with Ed Hardy's somewhat suicidal messages (ex. "Love Kills Slowly") written across perfume bottles, shoes, and occasionally bags, but neon skulls and crossbones paraded around on denim is too much to handle. Way. Too. Much.

If you look closely enough on the back pocket, you can see that it actually says "New York City." Personally, this is fairly illogical-I didn't know that peop...

rave: ENAMEL Flower Bib Necklaces.!

April 13, 2009
This has to be one of my favorite Spring trends so far. There is something so fresh and original with the piled-on look that makes it such a desired style of jewelry, especially for me. I have yet to find my own flower bib, but I might just use this DIY as featured in what I think was TeenVogue: stringing lots of chunky, floral rings (these can be found at Dollar General) and stringing them on to any color of satin ribbon. I still need more rings...

If someone knows where I can find on...

rant: Welcome to Frumpville! Have a Juicy Sweatsuit.

April 13, 2009
What a great way to kick off my site! Some of my friends know that I am an avid hater of the Juicy Couture Velour Sweatsuit, and if you don't , I warn you that no fire of hell could match the disgust I feel for them. Juicy Fans- you've been warned.

Why, friends, does the sweatsuit epidemic continue?? It is all because of the pre-teenage mentality that if you pay a lot of money for something, it must be fashionable, and apropriate for any situation. Let it be known that this is false, and hope...

sami, blogger?

Sami I guess I am a teen blogger. The idea of getting one originated from my friend mallory- credit's with her. I really do like this concept, of being able to maybe provoke a couple laughs, or a smile, or even an appreciative nod. And so, my opinions on fashion, whether you agree with them or not, are on this website. If you agree, awesome! If not, sorry. All in all, I love fashion. It's in my blood- I have an oldest sister who would kill for a pair of Louboutins yet improvises in the depths of Target, and a second-oldest sis who I define as a boho-chic modernized hipster with an eye for putting things together. So yea, I guess I'm lucky.
